The Myrtle Beach area is known by visitors all over the globe as one of the best destinations for world-class golf.

But we're not just all country clubs and fancy championship courses here. There's also tons of a great famil-friendly golfing options including discount courses, par 3 courses and miniature golf courses.

You'll find great, challenging options for mini golf all over the Grand Strand, but North Myrtle Beach is an especially good place to partake in some putt putt with the family — there's nearly a dozen courses just on the north end alone.

But with so many options, choosing a place to play can be tough. That's why we're running down ten of the best spots to play miniature golf in North Myrtle Beach:

Black Pearl Mini Golf

Located on Sea Mountain Highway in the heart of Cherry Grove, Black Pearl is a family-owned facility with an 18-hole miniature golf course, game room, ice cream shop and more. Being the only course on this stretch of beach, it can get crowded at times during the high season, but the wait is generally worth it as the challenging pirate-themed course is fun for all ages.

Hawaiian Rumble Mini Golf

One of the most famous courses on the Grand Strand, Hawaiian Rumble in North Myrtle Beach is home to the annual Masters of Prominigolf tournament and the official U.S. Prominigolf team's training facility. Filled with volcanoes and waterfalls, the course offers both fun and challenging holes while also providing multiple family photo opportunities on some of the more scenic spots. The pro shop also sells homemade shark's-tooth necklaces unlike the ones found in local novelty shops.
 

Hawaiian Village Mini Golf

Though not as heralded as its nearby sister course, Hawaiian Rumble, this oasis of the Hawaiian Islands has two 18 hole courses and a layout that's filled with the relaxing melodies of island music. Across the course you'll find exciting holes with tiki heads and huts, waterfalls, caves, and even a locomotive.

Mayday Miniature Golf

MayDay Miniature Golf in North Myrtle Beach takes golfers on a real island adventure, beginning with a mock airplane ride that ends in disaster that leaves players stranded on a tropical island. The Mayday Mountain course takes golfers to higher elevations under the wings of the big yellow plane that sits atop the course, while the Rescue Falls course winds through waterfalls and features a helicopter rescue.
 

Molten Mountain Mini Golf

Molten Mountain Golf in North Myrtle Beach features exploding volcanoes and the usual island-themed obstacles, but what sets it apart is air-conditioned indoor play for those steamy summer days and chilly spring and fall nights. Also affiliated with Mutiny Bay and Cancun Lagoon, hard-core players can purchase a three-day pass for unlimited access to all three courses.
 

Mutiny Bay Miniature Golf

Mutiny Bay Miniature Golf Course is a 36 hole, all outdoor adventure that easily identifiable by its enormous pirate ship located just off of U.S. 17 in North Myrtle Beach. In addition to a fun course that winds through caves and onto ships, you'll also find a battle featuring the pirates of the Caribbean happening every 30 minutes as you play.

Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf

Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf also allows players to solve a giant riddle while putting their way around the unique layout. Golfers start the round with a ride on an old mining train, then collect clues on each hole to try to find the missing gold. The course features play through caves, ancient ruins and waterfalls en route to the hidden treasure. 

Professor Hacker's Dinosaur Adventure

Following the path of noted explorer, archaeologist, anthropologist, paleontologist, and part-time taxidermist, Professor Duffer A. Hacker, this course will delight fans of dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures of all kinds. Play two 18-hole courses as you explore waterfalls and jungles in the land of the lost.

Rainbow Falls

Located on the northernmost end of Myrtle Beach in the Restaurant Row area, this facility features two 18-hole miniature golf courses with beautiful landscaping and waterfalls that make a great family experience. Play through caves, beneath waterfalls and castles as you content with creatures including an enormous octopus, sharks, dinosaurs and more.

Tribal Island Miniature Golf

Located on the far north end of town in Little River, this course isn't the most challenging you'll find, but it's perfectly well suited to a fun day with the family. Play across two 18-hole courses and choose from Tiki Bay or Volcano Valley as you putt your way to victory.
