North Myrtle Beach Weather in March

Those looking to visit North Myrtle Beach in March can expect two things: great weather and Spring Break fun! March tends to be the start of when visitors start slowly trickling in for the upcoming peak season, with many families and college students visiting the Grand Strand for Spring Break vacation.
On average, the air temperature in North Myrtle Beach during the month of March hovers around 68ºF, with some days being even warmer or slightly chillier. These temperatures provide the perfect conditions for outdoor activities such as kayaking, walking on the beach, fishing, and more such as heading up to the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex to try your hand at conquering a treetop ropes course at Go Ape!
However, you probably won’t be swimming in the ocean during the month of March as the average water temperature is around 56ºF. You may see some brave surfers in wetsuits in the water, but other than that it’s rare to see vacationers wading in the waves. Don’t let that stop you from walking on the beach and enjoying the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, as well as sandcastle building and seashell hunting.
March is also a great time for golfers to enjoy area golf courses while the weather is still on the slightly cooler side. Other fun March activities include the Myrtle Beach Marathon, the North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Run to the Sun Car Show, and much more!
