Whether you didn’t have a chance to visit North Myrtle Beach this summer, or whether you just couldn’t get enough of the area and want to come back for vacation #2, we have a great secret for you: September is a wonderful time to visit North Myrtle Beach! That’s right; even though September isn’t necessarily “peak season” for vacations in North Myrtle Beach, you’d be surprised to know that it is actually one of the best times to visit.

From milder weather to less crowds and more, here are reasons to visit North Myrtle Beach in September:

Weather

Believe it or not, the weather in September is extremely lovely in North Myrtle Beach.  The average air temperature is 85°F, meaning that it is still warm enough to enjoy the South Carolina sun, yet cooler than the sweltering summer heat. This also means that September is an awesome time to experience outdoor activities in the area and attend fun events.

Events

Though many people believe that North Myrtle Beach goes to sleep when the summer is over, you’d be happy to know that there are still so many fun things going on in September! North Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas host many great events throughout the month including:

•7th Annual Coastal Uncorked Food and Wine Festival – September 1, 2017

•Beach, Boogie, & BBQ Festival – September 1, 2017

•Myrtle Beach Mustang Week – September 4, 2017

• Travis Tritt at The Calvin Gilmore Theater – September 17, 2017

•Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival – September 22, 2017

•Temptations & Four Tops – Sepetember 23, 207

•2017 St. John’s Greek Festival – September 28, 2017

•Irish Italian Festival – September 30, 2017

•Drifters, Coasters & Platters at Alabama Theatre – September 30, 2017

Golf

The Grand Strand is home to over 100 championship golf courses, and September is a great time to enjoy a golfing trip with your buddies. By the time September rolls around, summer golfers have already left, and the influx of fall golfers just begins to trickle in. Many golf courses offer deals during this month, but the best part is enjoying the North Myrtle Beach weather while playing your favorite game.

Hotel Deals

Since September isn’t “peak season,” most times you can find a good deal at your favorite hotel or resort.  Less crowds in the area means more vacant rooms, which in turn means lower prices and more accommodation options available to you and your family.

Less Crowds

Don’t like fighting crowds at your favorite restaurants, hotels, and attractions? In September, you don’t have to worry about that! Because many people have kids who have already gone back to school by this time of the year, you’ll find that you don’t have to wait in long lines for things in North Myrtle Beach. Instead of waiting for 30 minutes for a table at your favorite restaurant, you can just walk in and be seated. You can also scored great seats and a theatre show, or book your favorite hotel room.

Outdoor Activities

Since the weather is so beautiful in September, it is prime time to go outside and enjoy the nature of the area. Go for a stroll along the beach, challenge your friends to mini-golf, or shop at an outdoor mall. Or, you can always try a watersport such as parasailing, jet skiing, paddle boarding, and more. Plus, North Myrtle Beach is just down the road from the fishing town of Little River, where you can go out on a fishing charter, or grab some delicious fresh seafood!

The Beach

You can still enjoy the beach in September in North Myrtle Beach! With the temperature still being warm enough to lay out and the average water temperature being around 77°F, plan at least a day or two at the beach while visiting in September. The beach, of course, is one of the main attractions here, so why not take advantage of less crowded beaches and amazing weather while you can?
